Calling all Savannah residents — Lone Wolf Lounge is the after work place to be seen. Known as a neighborhood bar, Lone Wolf caters to the local crowd while accepting anyone and everyone. Classic and house cocktails dominate the menu while neon signs, checkered floors, and paneled walls bring a dive bar feel, while keeping it classy.

Located in a historical 1897 house, Common Thread is a difficult reservation to acquire; however, at the top of the stairs sits first come, first serve seating at the fully stocked and dimly lit bar. Craft cocktails dominate the drink menu like the Gold Pocket Watch, a combination of Irish whiskey, rhubarb, lemon honey, and ginger beer, but cider, wines by the glass, and craft beer are also available.

Rooftop season calls for views of the city and river at the top of the Alida Hotel. Fireplaces center the establishment with a large bar giving ample space to order. The Lost Square provides light bites and champagne views along with quirky craft cocktail names like Get in Loser and Your Mom’s Chest Hair.

This underground pub brings the secret pub feel to historical Savannah. Bottomless mimosa ($15 all you can drink) are available daily. Pair a mimosa with the brunch menu to kick off a walking and drinking tour of Savannah. The Ordinary Pub also provides a happy hour from 3-7 p.m. involving cocktails, wine, and draft beers. Basically, an all day drinking opportunity.

First walk down an alley, then walk down stairs, and then order a killer cocktail. The Alley Cat is worth locating. The exposed brick basement, giving a speakeasy feel, showcases an impressive bar. Innovative cocktails are described on a newspaper menu, bringing an old school feel and smell to the establishment. The art of making a cocktail is alive and well at the Alley Cat. 

Pinkie Masters, known to locals as Pinkies, is a Savannah legend. This old-school cash-only bar has kept its humble quirky vibe consistent throughout the year including the neon rotating PBR signs, multi-colored string lights, and tastefully tacky decor. Although frequented mostly by the neighbors and community, there are no strangers once entering the bar. Canned beer is the most popular order here.

Think trendsetting cocktail bar with small plate options perfect for after work drinks. Savoy Society offers draft beer as well as wine and custom cocktails like the Chatham Artillery Punch, which includes rye, Jamaican rum, cognac, Yaupon tea, and bubbles. The vinyl-only soundtrack will be playing throughout the bar for all those music lovers.

Tucked into the corner of a nondescript historical building sits the Fitzroy. The red front door opens to a large bar with ample seating and interior exposed brick and an open dining room with gorgeous green booths. Happy hour is Wednesday to Monday from 3-5 p.m. offering light bites to pair with cocktails, beer, and wine but not necessarily in that order. Rooftop options are also available for those wishing to look out over the Savannah skyline.

Just outside of downtown Savannah sits the Wyld. With a long dock overlooking the marsh, customers come by car and by boat to drink craft cocktails, frozen slushies, and draft or canned beer. Sunsets over the marsh only add to the Lowcountry views.
