Lowcountry dessert makers Life Raft Treats have issued a recall on several of their ice cream items after the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control notified them that their Not Fried Chicken tested positive for Listeria. They have also decided to recall their Life Is Peachy treats because the items were manufactured in the same room as the Not Fried Chicken.
According to the recall, Listeria can “can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.”
Life Raft Treats asks customers not to consume the Not Fried Chicken 64-ounce bucket, Not Fried Chicken 2.5-ounce bar with UPC code 8 60006 18210 6 and Life Is Peachy six-count box ice cream products with the Best By Date up to and including “AUG 8212024.”
The products can be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund. Customers with questions may contact Life Raft Treats via email recall@liferafttreats.com or telephone them at (843) 695-9806.
