From latkes to brisket, see what’s available in the Queen City

Hanukkah in Charlotte is almost here, and from Sunday, December 18 through Monday, December 26, a few spots are offering latkes, brisket, challah, and more. Here is a sample of Queen City restaurants and organizations partaking in takeout Hanukkah meals, dishes, and more.

Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen

For anyone in Charlotte not wanting to cook Hanukkah dinner this year, catering space/cooking school Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen has an entire menu dedicated to the holiday. Meal items include braised brisket, crispy potato pancakes with apple sauce, and challah with honey butter. The items are available for pre-order until Monday, December 19.

Kosher Charlotte

All-Kosher spot Kosher Charlotte will offer House-made sufganiyot with strawberry jam and latkes on its Hanukkah menu.

Chabad of Charlotte

Admission is free for the Chabad Center for Jewish Life’s Hanukkah celebration on Sunday, December 18 — the doughnuts and latkes are free as well. The festivities start at 4:30 p.m. at Symphony Park.

Chabad of Lake Norman

On Tuesday, December 20, the Chabad of Lake Norman will light the menorah and offer traditional doughnuts and latkes. The event, hosted at Birkdale Village on the Green, starts at 5:30 p.m.

Ballantyne Jewish Center

On Monday, December 19, the Ballantyne Jewish center will host a menorah lighting, starting at 5:30 p.m. Doughnuts and latkes will be available.
