Cult-Favorite Emmy Squared Pizza Opens in Charlotte Today

Tour the Plaza Midwood location here

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas.

It’s time for Charlotte to experience Detroit-style square pizza by the way of Brooklyn with the opening of Emmy Squared Pizza, today, September 9, at 5 p.m.

What started as a pizza hotspot in the Williamsburg, Emmy Squared has rapidly expanded recently with the latest target in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood in Charlotte. The restaurant is widely known for its thick crust pizza and its double-stacked burger on a pretzel bun, which has won multiple best-of awards.

The Charlotte location will offer favorites like waffle fries, cheesy garlic sticks, chicken katsu sandwiches, and salads, in addition to all those pizza and burgers. The restaurant will even offer a Queen City-specific pie, as well as will feature a specialty pizza inspired by the Queen City as well as plenty of local beers from Pilot Brewing Company, Resident Culture Brewing Company, Protagonist NoDa, Wooden Robot Brewery, Divine Barrel Brewing, and Twenty-Six Acres Brewing Company.

Emmy Squared joins other New York transplants, like Shack Shake, as Charlotte’s culinary scene continues to grow.

Tour Charlotte’s Emmy Squared here, before the opening at 1508 Central Avenue.
