Park & Grove Debuts New Sleek and Seductive Dining Room

Tons of art, plants, and fun details

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas, covering the food and restaurant scene across North and South Carolina.

The former Park Cafe at 730 Rutledge Avenue has a second chapter in life as the newly opened Park & Grove. Owner Karalee Nielsen Fallert wanted to reinvent the dining room of Park Cafe into a more evening destination, rather than a sunny cafe, to draw in dinner customers.

Now the room is dark with pops of gold and green from plenty of plants with a big focus on paintings and photos that line the walls. Fallert says she knew that she wanted to keep the room itself very simple while letting the art create the ornamentation in the room. The artwork is from her own collection, along with pieces from her friend Leila Davenport Ross or from artists represented by Ross with Show & Tell Art & Design. Some works will stay as part of the permanent collection, and some are placeholders as they wait for the pieces that are being produced for the space.

Take a tour of the new Park & Grove here.
