First Look at Charleston’s Newest Neighborhood Hangout Berkeley’s

Plus a peek at the menu full of French dips and wedge salads

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas.

North Central restaurant Berkeley’s is very, very close to opening, and Eater has the first look at the renovations to the 624 ½ Rutledge Avenue address. Housed in the former Uneeda Sicilian spot, the space underwent major renovations and now boasts a stylish indoor dining room, bar, and spacious patio. Owners Marc and Elizabeth Hudacsko aim for classic and comfortable, wanting to be a go-to for neighborhood gatherings.

Once open (perhaps this week), Berkeley’s will serve a menu that pulls from the owner’s New Jersey background. The restaurant will offer hearty sandwiches, like a French dip and a cheesesteak made famous by the Hudacsko’s former pop-up We Flew South. But, it’s not just in-between-buns options — there will also be a wedge salad, fried calamari, braised short rib, chicken parmesan, roasted salmon, and more. The full menu is at the bottom of this post.

Take a look around the newly polished space at Berkeley’s here and keep an eye out for an opening date.
