Famed NYC Bar Death & Co Opens Little Palm in Charleston

First look at the space in the Ryder Hotel

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas.

Hospitality group Gin & Luck, from the same proprietors of world-famous Manhattan bar Death & Co., are set to open bar/restaurant Little Palm at 237 Meeting Street, in the newly renovated Ryder hotel. The space was previously the King Charles Inn, but it has received an Instagram-worthy makeover from Gin & Luck partners David Kaplan, Alex Day, and Devon Tarby.

A long bar overlooking the pool area anchors the vintage South Beach-looking space. Pink palm wallpaper, big umbrellas over lounge chairs, and sparkling pool round out the hot girl summer look.

As far as drinks go, the menu runs creative and tropical, like the Places & Spaces with Pineau de Charentes, mezcal, guava, cinnamon, lemon, and mint. Charleston veteran Megan Deschaine (formerly of Doar Brothers) is the bar manager at Little Palm. The food ranges from freshly shucked oysters to corn custard with a butterbean salad and feta. See the full menu at the end of this post.

Little Palm will officially open to the public on Thursday, May 20. Check out the space here.
