Winners of Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race Season 8, Brandon Lapp and Steve Klatt, announced that their first brick-and-mortar will open at 3338 Maybank Highway, on Sunday, September 27. They have turned their prize-winning food truck Braised in the South into a permanent kitchen with a takeout window for outdoor dining.

The restaurant will open for lunch, dinner, and soft serve ice cream. The menu is a mix of Southern hits with bar food favorites. There’s wings, fried shrimp and grits, pulled pork, burgers, and more. There’s a few salads for those wanting something lighter. The ice cream menu includes 21 toppings and dips. It’s basically a family friendly sort of place with picnic tables and food that kids will eat (chicken tenders).

Braised in the South’s hours of operations will be Sunday through Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
