King Street staple Kickin’ Chicken will shut down operation soon. For the past 21 years, the sports bar/wing establishment served the college community, football fans, and hordes of tourists at the 337 King Street location.
According to Charleston City Paper, the restaurant will shutter on April 25, 2020. The building sold last year, which prompted rumors of its closure, but the owners continued to lease the space and stayed in operation.
With all dining rooms and bars shut down in South Carolina, it’s unlikely that fans of the establishment will ever get a chance to dine in the 337 King Street location again. Kickin’ Chicken still maintains its takeout and delivery services amid the COVID-19 pandemic. So, wings, nuggets, and bobby fries are still available.
Kickin’ Chicken currently has six locations across the Lowcountry, and according to Charleston City Paper, the owners are actively searching for the next downtown location.
