Just a reminder that Saint Philip Street pizza spot D’Allesandro’s might be the best ever in Charleston — the crew delivered dozens of pizzas to area grocery stores to provide some comfort for the essential employees showing up on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pizzeria provided boxes of slices to the downtown Food Lion, Harris Teeter, and Publix. D’Allesandro’s supplied each establishment two supreme pizzas, two meat lover’s pizzas, two It’s Not Easy Being Green pizzas, two cheese pizzas, and two whole-sized cheesy breads. Corner store JD’s Market on Rutledge Avenue received a roasted red pepper and goat cheese pizza.
In the comment section on Facebook, someone suggested delivering to the Veggie Bin as well, to which the pizzeria said they would get to today.
This isn’t the first time that D’Allesandro’s has helped out in time of need; just last year the restaurant delivered pizzas to furloughed Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents at Charleston National Airport.
The pizzeria is still available for home delivery or takeout as well.
Grocery store appreciation day! Provided lunch for every staff member at all downtown grocery stores... ...and Jamal....
