Lowcountry-based Mexican food truck El Kiosko has been gaining followers for its birria tacos, but recently it announced that pumpkin spice tacos are currently on the menu. Owner JR Villasenor Gonzalez took to Facebook to announce that he would be flavoring pork tacos with fall spices.
Eater photographer Mike Ledford taste-tested the tacos and came back with glowing text reviews.
Tasty. Kinda sweet and spicy? Close to classic bbq sauce sweetness.
Definitely tasted like pumpkin spice but not over the top.
Would eat again.
The El Kiosko truck tends to travel around Hanahan, Summerville, and Mount Pleasant. Keep up with the mobile kitchen on Street Food Finder.
Even though pumpkin spice is made fun of quite often, it makes sense to combine cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves into a pork dish — isn't that just a Christmas ham?
Here’s a few more shots of El Kiosko and the birria and pumpkin spice tacos.
