Restaurant/inn Old Village Post House went dark this past February after serving Pitt Street since 2003, but now it will find an updated life with new owners Kate and Ben Towill of design and hospitality firm Basic Projects.

The Towills, who opened Wentworth Street eatery Basic Kitchen, will renovate the space and revamp the restaurant. According to the press release, the restaurant will be “casual, lively and family-friendly open for dinner, weekend brunch and special occasions.” Also, “The Post House will serve simple, seasonal food, classic cocktails and a varied, approachable wine list. Influenced by the region, the menu will feature bright, unfussy dishes that highlight local ingredients.”

So, basically, there will be food, wine, and cocktails that won’t require a lot of Googling.

If the Post House turns out like the other Basic Projects spaces, it will be impeccably renovated and highly Instagramable.

The team plans to open the Post House by spring 2020. There’s an Instagram if you want to follow along.
