Charleston Chefs Hit Greenville for Annual Food Festival
Charleston chefs like Home Team BBQ’s Taylor Garrigan and Millers All Day’s Joe DiMaio will head to Greenville this weekend for Euphoria, the city’s annual food and wine festival. In its 14th year, Euphoria Greenville features 39 events like Taste of the South, where 15 chefs from Charleston, Charlotte, Atlanta, and Greenville create one signature Southern dish. Filipino X Chinese at Second State
Nikko Cagalanan from Mansueta’s Filipino pop-up and JackRabbit Filly sous chef Brandon Olsen will pop-up at Second State Coffee in Mount Pleasant next Tuesday, September 24. Everything on the menu at the collaborative dinner will be between $9 and $16, and guests can expect to find dishes like adobo, tortang talong, katsu sando, and mussels conserva.
Hospital and Hospitality Dinner at 5Church
5Church partners with MUSC Children’s Hospital to host the second annual Hospital and Hospitality dinner on October 1, starting at 6:30 p.m. Miracle patients will team up with executive chef Adam Hodgson to serve a kid-inspired menu with all proceeds going to the Children’s Hospital.
Sustainable Seafood on Shem Creek
Nico Oysters and Seafood hosts a Good Catch Dinner this Thursday, September 19, in partnership with the South Carolina Aquarium. Chef Nico Romo eill offer a four -ourse meal, and local fisherman Wayne Magwood will be on hand to give attendees more information on sustainable seafood in the Lowcountry.
The Shem Creek eatery is also hosting an event on September 25, in honor of Tommy Henry, who is a long time friend of the restaurant fighting stage-four metastatic melanoma. Find lobster rolls, oysters, cocktails and more, with all proceeds from the $10 ticket cost going towards Henry’s medical costs.
Firkins at Fam’s
Oktoberfest starts early at Fam’s Brewing Co. on James Island this Saturday, September 21. The third annual Hoptoberfest party features German beer and games like keg bowling and stein hoisting along with live music. The party kicks off at noon with the tapping of a firkin keg, and festive clothing is encouraged.
