Restaurateurs Tomas and Lynda Prado are almost ready to unlock the doors on Cuban restaurant Spanglish Cocina + Bar. Located in the former Bluerose space at 652 Saint Andrews Blvd., the permanent location of Spanglish (it was formerly a concept in Workshop) will showcase the sort of meals the Prados ate in Miami.

The restaurant will serve classic Cuban-American dishes like “ropa vieja, picadillo, masitas de puerco, fricase de pollo along with ... ham croquettes, tostones with crispy pork, yuca fries, and empanadas”

The Prados write, “Before, at the Workshop, it was a struggle to really showcase our concept due to space restrictions.....but now, everything changes! We are so happy to have been able to secure this location in West Ashley — we wanted a neighborhood spot and this location was perfect! We love how welcoming everyone has been and we can’t wait to meet everybody and show them how much we appreciate their love and support. We are finally home.”

According to Facebook, Spanglish is days away from opening.
