Republic Development and Management Group’s (RDMG) will open the doors to its latest contribution to Upper King this summer. Named Mesu, the restaurant combines Mexican fare with sushi.
Mesu is currently hiring for servers, bartenders, cooks, and an assistant manager. The restaurant has signage displayed and is teasing the opening on Facebook and Instagram.
RDGM is pushing the “energy” of the spot and not so much the food in its press release:
Our team believes that people want to eat somewhere that’s exciting and full of energy – where they can meet and engage the food, art and each other. Diners come to enjoy Sushi and Mexican fair [sic] alongside works, original prints, art pieces of world-renowned artist like Alec Monopoly, Jeff Koons, Kaws, Hush, Vhils, just to name a few. Charleston is ready for this kind of experience.
The new addition at 570 King Street is the latest concept from RDMG. Previously, the group opened sparkly bar Bourbon n’ Bubbles. RDMG also has plans for a third bar on the block named 1st Place, which will be a “premium sports pub.”
