Uptown Social Hosts Hot Dog Eating Contest

Win $200 for eating hot dogs

King Street bar Uptown Social needs 10 contestants for its hot dog contest on July 2 at 7 p.m. Tag a friend on Instagram to get qualified. The competition will last 10 minutes. Contestants will need to consume the entire hot dog and bun without condiments. Executive chef Jonathan Kaldas will also participate. The winner of the contest will receive a $100 gift card to use that night and a $100 gift card to use on a visit in the future. The restaurant will also feature specialty hot dogs all week.

New ice cream spot opens tomorrow

Off Track Ice Cream will open at 6 Beaufain Street on Saturday, June 29. Entrepreneurs Marc and Alissa Zera make all the offerings from scratch. Off Track will serve traditional ice cream, as well as vegan and gluten-free versions.

Late night ramen

From 11 p.m. to 1 a.m., during the weekend, King Street sushi stop O-Ku will offer a new menu of late night snacks. Look for ramen, pork gyoza, barbecue wings, and more. House liquors are $5, and there’s half-price sakes.
