Savannah’s restaurant scene grows by the month, and this week, the city welcomes two new additions — pizzeria Squirrel’s and New York-based the Fat Radish.

Jacksonville, FL, chef Chris Dickerson brings pecan-wood-fired pizza to Savannah, with the opening of Squirrel’s at 2218 Bull St. The restaurant serves pies, sandwiches, salads, and small bites prepared in a custom wood oven. Pies range from the classic Margherita to the Benny Blanco Royale — a white pizza topped with mozzarella, Parmesan, rosemary, lemon olive oil, and lamb shoulder.

The restaurant also boasts a bar and a lounge with a “library-meets-speakeasy” vibe.

The managing partners of Charleston’s Basic Kitchen and the team behind New York City-based the Fat Radish opened a second Fat Radish in Savannah at 36 MLK Jr. Blvd., inside the Windrose Apartment Hotel.

Chef Nick Wilber created a menu of locally-sourced, produce-heavy plates like braised carrots with tumeric chutney, grilled peach with burrata and ham, or summer squash with harissa and sheep’s cheese. Below is the full dinner menu.
