James Island Bar Plans Ongoing Whiskey Series

Plus more food and beverage events in Charleston

JAMES ISLAND — Chef Lesley Carroll of Folly Beach hangout Jack of Cups helped to launch the Women and Whiskey series this past week at Paddock & Whisky on Maybank Highway. The first in the series on Wednesday, May 15, paired Widow Jane with cold soba salad and Old Forrester with edamame dumplings. For upcoming events, check out the Paddock Facebook page.

FRENCH QUARTER — This year’s annual Little Chef Big Chef event will be on Monday, June 24, at 5 Faber Street, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The five course dinner pairs Charleston chefs with member of non-profit Louie’s Kids. Robyn Guisto of Halls Management Group will serve as host chef along with chefs Marc Collins of Circa 1886, Bob Cook of Edmund’s Oast, Will Fincher of Obstinate Daughter, and Richard “Chip” Plaistowe of Halls Management Group. Tickets are available for $240 per person ($175 no-alcohol ticket). Call (843) 724-3808 to make a purchase.

NOMO — On Saturday, May 25, Edmund’s Oast Exchange will offer half off crowler and growler fills of its house beers. Herd Provisions food truck will also be at the shop from noon to 3 p.m., for those who want a taste of the burgers from the upcoming restaurant.
