In his previous years, chef David Schuttenberg of Kwei Fei fame was executive chef of Mexican restaurant Cabrito in New York, New York, and in celebration of Cinco de Mayo, he’s bringing some of his favorite recipes to James Island. For one week, Sichuan eatery Kwei Fei will have a Mexican menu of enchiladas, tacos, chicken barbacoa, and more.
This changeover is a preview of Shuttenberg’s next project Micho. The new eatery will be housed in a shipping container on the back deck of music venue the Pour House. Come this summer, those visiting the Maybank Highway institution will have a choice of a bowl of spicy noodles from Kwei Fei or a plate of green chili braised pork shoulder with tortillas from Micho.
The Mexican menu starts today at Kwei Fei and runs until Sunday. The regular Sichuan fare will be back next week. Keep an eye here for updates on the opening of Micho.
Here it is! Our Mexican menu with some nods to Cabrito and a preview into Micho. **We will only be offering this menu through Sunday. Sichuan will be back next week.
