Entrepreneurs Scott and Crystal Bishopp want to bring the comfort of buttery carbohydrates to 83 Mary Street with the opening of Bishopp’s Chicken Biscuit.

The Bishopps are currently converting the 1,300-square-foot space into a ten-seat counter restaurant. The plan is to open for breakfast and lunch, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a small menu of biscuits and fried chicken, along with a few other protein options and sides. Scott tells Eater, “People can order a biscuit and either on that biscuit or in a platter, they can get fried chicken, fried oyster, fried pork tenderloin, country ham or scrambled eggs, with sides of bacon, french fries, macaroni salad and potato salad. We will have a few homemade sauces to go on top of that, a couple of dessert items we will make, and that is it.”

The Bishopps want every item to be perfect and affordable, so they are keeping the list short. “We will be very reasonably priced, in a town where dining out is typically very expensive and “a special treat” for many,” says Scott.

Crystal previously worked at Mount Pleasant brunch spot Page’s Okra Grill.

The Bishopps want to open around May or June of this year.
