“Internal Challenges”

Chef Orlando Pagán joined McCrady’s Tavern in 2017, but he has recently departed from his role as executive chef at the Charleston restaurant.

David Howard, President of The Neighborhood Dining Group, released the following statement:

We are thankful for the ideas that Chef Orlando Pagan has brought to the McCrady’s Tavern kitchen. As 2 Unity Alley has evolved, we have realized that working with three different executive chefs and one executive pastry chef under one roof presents its own internal challenges.

Executive Chef Jim Stein and pastry chef Katy Keefe will oversee the menus at both McCrady’s and McCrady’s Tavern. In February, we look forward to their influence on a new bar menu and evolved dinner menu at the Tavern.

Pagán’s menu concentrated on seasonal, local products, like pork tenderloin with braised apples and Ciopollini onions or grilled swordfish with eggplant and a tomato marmalade.

Stein currently helms McCrady’s and Keefe has orchestrated the pastry program at both.
