Tour the Super-Pink Champagne Bar Opening This Sunday

Plus a new rooftop bar

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas.

Luxury space Hotel Bennett opens this Sunday, January 27, with a rosé-colored bar, a rooftop hangout, a pâtisserie, a lobby bar, and a European-leaning restaurant.

New Orleans’ chef Michael Sichel heads up old-world restaurant Gabrielle serving caviar, prime steaks, duck à l’orange, and gnocchi with clams.

The mostly pink Camellias bar is just off the lobby with pastel inspiration from the former Charleston public library building where Hotel Bennett now stands. According to the latest press release, “the bar’s pink, egg-shaped room was inspired by a Fabergé jewel box and is framed with four art panels that depict the Camellia flower.”

On the ninth floor is the rooftop bar Fiat Lux. Beverage manager Steven Huddleston will introduce bottle cocktails to be served poolside to the cabanas on the roof. The high-rise space overlooks Marion Square and the Charleston harbor.

Located at 404 King St., Hotel Bennett is owned by Bennett Hospitality and managed in collaboration with Salamander Hotels & Resorts.

Take a tour around the bars here with Eater photographer Leslie Ryann McKellar.
