Look for tacos, tortas, and kebobs to take over the former Cortaditos Cuban Cafe soon. Mexican/Latin catering company El PinchoTaco will open in the 616 Meeting St. space between sandwich spot Mozzo and laid-back bar Local 616.
The Aguirre family has popped up at numerous breweries and farmers’ markets across the Lowcountry with El Pincho Taco offerings since 2017. According to Yelp reviewers, the tacos are the real deal. Wilhelmina L. writes:
These tacos are unbelievably good. The masterminds behind El Pinchotaco are doing EVERYTHING right!
Had the pleasure of running into this stand today at the first James Island Town Market. They were doing 3 tacos for $10, with your choice of meat- chorizo, pollo chipotle, asada, pierna, chorizo, and veggie options!
We tried the asada, pollo chipotle, chorizo, and pierna. I seriously want to eat that asada every day for the rest of my life. It was seasoned perfectly and so flavorful. I believe the corn tortillas are handmade also, though I forgot to ask! They certainly tasted handmade and melted in your mouth.
Have you tried it out? Look for more information on the opening of El PinchoTaco as it comes along.
