Confirmation: The Citrus Club ‘Dropping Umbrellas in Drinks’ This Fall

All the tropical drinks

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas.

Who’s ready for a tropical hideaway on the highest hotel roof bar in Charleston? Because representatives for mid-century modern dream The Dewberry confirmed that the Citrus Club will be “dropping umbrellas in drinks” this fall. The Citrus Club was part of the original line-up of offerings from the hotel but came across some zoning problems.

In a 2016 interview, Eater was told that the food would be light, like oysters, crudos, and raw bar items, and the drinks would be riffs on tiki classics, but better. “I’m trying to elevate the high art of the piña colada,” said Beverage Director Ryan Casey. At the time, Eater was able to peek at the roof top, and the view is unmatched.

While the official menus haven’t been released, the Dewberry team confirmed a piña colada along with other “citrus-inspired” cocktails and a food menu of “Vietnamese noodle salad, house chips dusted with Lowcountry Bulls Bay sea salt, oysters on the half-shell with housemade mignonette and hot sauce, deviled eggs with trout roe, pickled shrimp with fresh-baked saltines and more.”

Look for an opening date soon, and in the meantime, stare at the beautiful interiors and cocktails of the Citrus Club here.
