Remember when Atlanta culinary magnate Ford Fry eyed Charleston for an expansion of his Tex-Mex restaurant Superica? Well, that sorta fizzled, and it seems the eatery redirected to Charlotte, North Carolina. Now, Fry announced that Cary, North Carolina, will be the next location for the taco, fajita and enchilada haven.”
The Triangle location will be located in a mixed-use development, named Fenton, which is anchored by supermarket Wegmans. The spaces should be open in 2020, if all goes according to developers plans.
Superica first opened at Krog Street Market in Atlanta in February 2015, and Fry plans to take the Tex-Mex restaurants across the South. Back in 2015, his team said that they were looking at Charleston, Nashville, and Houston. No visible movement has since been made on a move to the Lowcountry.
