According to a sign in the window, 207A St. Philip St. will have a new poke/sushi/fusion bowls eatery named Poke-San in May. Most recently, the address was fancy hot dog, ice cream, and waffle spot Parlor Deluxe. The soda shop shuttered in September 2016 and has sat empty since.
Prior to Parlor Deluxe, 2017A St. Philip St. was a gluten-free bakery named Sweet Radish. Both businesses lasted roughly a year on the corner of St. Philip and Spring Streets.
Poke is not new to Charleston. A wealth of raw fish bowls have popped up around town. Seafood masters 167 Raw served the traditionally Hawaiian dish upon its opening in 2014. Since then, The Darling, Beech, Poke Tea House, Poke Bros, and more have offered the dish on menus across the Lowcountry.
How will Poke-San stand out in the sea of fish? Keep an eye out on more details on the menus, hours, and opening date.
