Cannon Green Goes for New Name, Menu, Design

Be Wonderstruck By the Space at Spring Street Stunner Cannon Green

Dreamy restaurant Cannon Green reveals that it will switch things up this summer with a new look, new menu, and new name. This announcement comes on the heels of a mediocre review in the Charleston City Paper.

Critic Vanessa Wolf checked out the new chef at Cannon Green (Mike Perez took over after Amalia Scatena departed), and she was not loving it. The review is full of phrases like, “awkwardly plated,” “there just isn’t much of it to go around,” “head-scratcher,” and “disagreeably raw.” She enjoyed the raviolo though — even as she complains about the price.

The PR team for Cannon Green took the review as an opportunity to announce to Eater that there are changes afoot for the Spring Street restaurant:

We’re thrilled with the positive words that Vanessa had to share about Mike’s new menu, but did want to make it clear that Cannon Green will be completely reconcepting later this summer to make way for a newly designed space, new name, and new menu. Chef Perez and the team are working on the concept this summer and plan to announce and relaunch early this fall. We’re really excited about the changes and will share more information when we have it.
