On Thursday, April 5, much of the Charleston food and beverage community woke up to discover a fellow service industry member had been a victim of gun violence the previous evening. Tavern & Table manager Chris Dixon was found shot around 11:30 p.m. at the Shem Creek restaurant after an attempted robbery. A representative for the restaurant put out the following statement to the press:
Late last night Tavern and Table manager, Chris Dixon, was the victim of a senseless and random act of violence after the restaurant closed.
Dixon has been a part of the restaurant group behind Tavern and Table for over 15 years and is a new dad. Thanks to the speed and professionalism with which the Mount Pleasant police and first responders came to his aid, Dixon is in the hospital recovering.
Then Tavern & Table put up a Facebook post asking for prayers and thoughts, as Dixon came out of surgery and was stable.

Now, authorities have released surveillance video of the suspect, asking for any information as to the man’s identity.
