The owners of Mount Pleasant’s Grace & Grit will add a lunch restaurant named The Grit Counter next week. The new midday addition takes over the former Welkin Coffee space at 320 Wingo Way. Located behind Grace & Grit, the upcoming eatery already has signage and is said to open early next week.

Eater reached out to officials at Grace & Grit for more details but have yet to hear back.

Grits master/chef Frank Kline and construction professional Grae Rambo opened Grace & Grit last year on August 7. The Southern seafood restaurant wanted to “reintroduce true Charleston hospitality” to the Lowcountry. The Mount Pleasant restaurant has gone on to be a popular dinner spot for local sustainable seafood and many, many flavors of grit. Grace & Grit also serves as a brunch destination, located east of the Cooper River.

More details, including menu and photos, of The Grit Counter as they come.
