Uptown Social Shows Off Menu of Crisp Pizzas and Pub Fare

And $2 drink specials

Sports-heavy bar Uptown Social nears the finish line for opening in the former Huger’s space at 587 King St. The forthcoming establishment from NYC Best Bars, which operates eight bars in Manhattan, as well as two spots in Chicago, has an emphasis on bar pies, beer, sports, bar snacks, and “being a good neighbor.”

The three of the partners behind Uptown Social, Kara Graves, Keith Benjamin, Jonathan Arzt, announced this week that Jonathan Kaldas will join as executive chef and Alec Gropman will be aboard as sous chef. Kaldas, who previously worked for Old Village Post House and The CodFather, says that he’s excited for Uptown Social to open and predicts that his wings will be a favorite. He explains that the poultry is set in a 24-hour ginger brine, smoked, and then deep fried.

In addition to the pub fare, a large part of the menu is the thin and crispy bar pies from consultant Anthony Falco, formerly of Brooklyn-favorite Roberta’s Pizza. Falco will be in town next week to check up on the menu and kitchen.

Here’s the full menu, including all the deep discounts on drinks during happy hour.

Uptown Social should be opening next month.
