Father and son duo Jim and James Carrera will open a Philly Pretzel Factory in Summerville this June. According to Philly Pretzel Factory, it is the world’s largest Philly-style pretzel bakery, with over 170 franchised locations, and menu items like pretzel hot dogs and cinnamon sugar pretzels.

The first Lowcountry location will sit at Carnes Crossroads, Windmill Station, at 2007 Second Ave., Ste. A, Summerville.

The Carreras want to open a minimum of three stores and are currently looking for a space on King Street and in Mount Pleasant.

When asked what brought him to the franchise, James Carrera said, “The largest thing that drew me to the Philly Pretzel Factory concept is the product. The pretzel that they offer is the best soft pretzel that I have tasted. This combined with the fact that they can provide anything from a quick snack to a large amount of great catering opportunities for people made it a great versatile business to get involved in, and everyone loves a pretzel.”
