A lease was signed back in August and now downtown Minneapolis-born Butcher & The Boar confidently promises a May or June debt for its expansion to Mt. Pleasant’s Brookgreen Town Center.

The restaurants, which serves American craft food, beer, and bourbon, focuses on its meat dishes served in a communal dining experience. The original restaurant features a long and very popular bar, a woodsy interior, and an open kitchen that allows the sounds and smell of the grill to reach the frequently packed dining room.

Locally, the owners will take over the 9,723-square-foot former home of Southerly Restaurant & Patio at 760 Coleman Blvd., including its huge outdoor patio. Back in Minneapolis, Butcher & The Boar keeps it own dog-friendly “beer garden” patio cozy with a large wood burning fireplace.

The restaurant features in-house butchering and sausages made in house, as well as smoked bone marrow, hot link croquettes, 21-day aged New York strip steaks, beef long rib, Alaskan king crab legs, and a pan-seared duck breast.
