Cannon Green opened on Spring Street in December 2014 as a fancy event space/Mediterranean-influenced restaurant with chef Amalia Scatena at the helm. After over three years with the restaurant, Dean Andrews, owner of Easton Porter Group (which Cannon Green is housed under), announced her departure in a statement to Eater:
In April, Chef Amalia Scatena will part ways with Cannon Green to pursue her next chapter in her culinary career. Amalia has played an instrumental role for Easton Porter properties in Charleston and Charlottesville for the past seven years, and we are thankful for her positive impact, and we have no doubt she will be very successful in her next endeavors.
Our Cannon Green family remains committed to our mission of providing an incomparable downtown Charleston restaurant and private events experience. We have begun a national chef search, reviewing both internal and external options, aided by our Easton Porter culinary team, which includes Executive Chefs Vinson Petrillo (Zero George) and Ian Rynecki (Pippin Hill) and our sous chefs. We look forward to announcing our new team member very soon.
Keep eyes on Eater to see who replaces Scetena.
