Stroll Through North Charleston’s Newest Vegan Restaurant

“Niam N Goura”

On December 11, 2017 Dellz on the Macon opened in North Charleston. After 10 years of nourishing downtown Charleston with Jazzy Pizzas, Picky Nikki Nachos, and fresh fruit smoothies, Maudell Grayson and her daughter Smarel Nicole are excited to bring delicious, healthy food options to another part of town.

The menu at Dellz on the Macon is very (entirely) vegan-friendly. Smarel Nicole wants people to know “Soul food began with healthy eating. Good food is good food.”

Thanks in part to a partnership with local non-profit organization Metanoia, menu items are on a “pay what you’re able” pricing scale. This means, for example, a guest can choose to purchase a salad for $4, $5, or $6, and the portion size will be the same.

Located at 2021 Reynolds Ave., Dell’z on the Macon is a vibrant, comfortable place to work, play, meet, and make new friends. Large sidewalk-facing windows let lots of natural light bounce through the space’s colorful decor. Seating includes a community table in the middle of the room, high-top window seats, short, round cafe tables, and a cushioned bench. A floral mural accent wall proclaims the words “Niam N Goura” or “Eat to Live” in celebration of culture, wellness and vitality for everyone who enters. Check out this video to see all the action from their first month.

Dell’z Restaurant Group, LLC is a family grown business started by Grayson which includes Dell’z Uptown, Dell’z on the Macon, and a third restaurant opening late 2018.

Hours of operation at Dell’z on the Macon are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
