Find South Pacific flair on Folly Beach with the opening of Wiki Wiki Sandbar. As of yesterday, the Hawaiin-Southern restaurant is ready to accept patrons.

Industry vet Karalee Fallert (Taco Boy, The Park Cafe, and The Royal American) and business partner April Bennett unlocked the doors at 106 East Ashley Ave. on Thursday, Dec. 14.

Wiki Wiki Sandbar has five rooms with different themes and works from local artists. The restaurant/bar includes: the Octopus Bar with works from Jeff Kopish, the Diorama Room with works by Hirona Matsuta, the Sunset Room with “a sunset-inspired Venetian plaster design” by Suzanne Allen, the Wave Room with a sculpture made of Japanese glass floats, and a tiki bar on the top floor.

Jason Dupree (formerly of Rue de Jean) will be the executive chef. The menu draws from Hawaiian and Southern cuisine. Think slow-roasted pork, a pu-pu platter, and Spam sliders.

Fallert’s business partner/longtime bar man Xan McLaughlin designed a drink menu featuring tropical tiki drinks — including a riff on the iconic Dole Whip.

Wiki Wiki is now open for lunch and dinner Sunday through Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
