New aperitivo bar Babas on Cannon launched last month with evening services and is now ready to bring a bit of that European-cafe sensibility to the daytime. Starting Tuesday, November 6, at 7 a.m., Babas now offers a wide selection of coffee drinks, breakfast items, sandwiches, and salads until 3 p.m.

The menu includes breakfast tacos, overnight oats, a “very tall quiche,” buttermilk cardamom bread, avocado toast, a BLT, pickled shrimp, roasted beets, a vanilla cream puff, and more.

The team behind Babas includes co-owners Edward Crouse and Marie Stitt with cocktail expert Lane Becker.

Located at 11 Cannon St., Babas opens Tuesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. and then reopens from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. With a small staff, mostly counter service, and still plenty of wine, Babas is a laid-back addition to the downtown Charleston lunch and breakfast scene.
