Rapper Waka Flocka Flame hosted a Halloween party in Mount Pleasant and decided to fuel up for the event at Nana’s Seafood & Soul. The classic Gullah-Geechie cuisine restaurant posted a photo of co-owner Carolyn McNeil with Waka Flocka on Facebook and Instagram. Many fans expressed their envy at the staff’s chance to meet the celebrity.

Nana’s co-owner (and Carolyn’s son) Kenyatta McNeil says that the rapper and his crew ordered shrimp and lobster boats, shrimp and grouper dinners, fried crab legs, and a few of Mani & Maya’s Fruity Treats.

Nana’s, located at 176 Line St., is known for seafood, soul, and a real-deal Gullah-Geechie menu. The McNeils create Lowcountry classics with local products in their small restaurant. For about $10, patrons can score a giant piece of perfectly-fried whiting, fried cabbage on rice, lima beans, and a sweet piece of cornbread.
