Charlotte-based restaurant Kid Cashew has expanded to Mount Pleasant. The transplant opened last week at 1440 Ben Sawyer Blvd. The original Kid Cashew opened in the Dilworth community of Charlotte and describes itself as a “wood-fire grill inspired by farmers, butchers and the Mediterranean.” The South Carolina location claims to also be inspired by the “beauty of Charleston.”

The expansive menu bounces from a quinoa-stuffed avocado to Greek-style wings to a lamb gyro to Spanish octopus. The restaurant also offers a vegan section and highlights gluten-free items.

The Charlotte location currently has four stars on Yelp, with most reviews praising the large selection of menu items, family friendliness, and the creative cocktails. The negative reviews complain about service and “mediocre” food.

Kid Cashew in Mount Pleasant is open for dinner, seven days a week, starting at 5 p.m. The Charlotte store is open for lunch, so perhaps that is in the plans for the South Carolina store.
