After exposing himself to a group on Friday, October 26, Normandy Farm Bakery and One Broad co-owner Mike Ray removed himself from daily operations at his restaurants. The following statement was sent to local media.

After thoughtful consideration, Mike Ray is choosing to step down from the day to day operations at Normandy Farm and 1 Broad. Mike is seeking counseling and is incredibly sorry for his actions on Friday night at the Parlour: Charleston event. ‘I cannot apologize enough. I am sorry to everyone affected by my actions. I would like to apologize to everyone at the event, my staff, my family, and the people of Charleston. I know that I am better than my actions. I hope to recover and come out a much better and healthier person.’

Ben Johnson, who has been involved with both restaurants since 2007, will take over as the director of operations of both Normandy Farm Bakery and One Broad immediately.
