Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas, covering the food and restaurant scene across North and South Carolina.

Today marks the first day of meal delivery service DoorDash in Charleston. Also serving Goose Creek, Hanahan, North Charleston, West Ashley, and James Island, DoorDash is Available 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.

Customers can arrange delivery service through the DoorDash website or through the iPhone or Android app.

To encourage new users to sign up, DoorDash is offering $1 deliveries for all orders over $15 for the next month, in addition to a promo code CHSDASH for $5 off the first order of $15 or more,.

Restaurants listed on the DoorDash website include everything from fast food, Wendy’s and Taco Bell, to fine dining, Peninsula Grill and Stars. Popular spots like Le Farfalle and Leon’s Oyster shop are on the list too.

Will DoorDash take over QuickFoxes and UberEats as Charleston’s first choice for food delivery? According to Recode, “Compared to others in the space, DoorDash has developed a reputation for smarts around how to manage the many factors that make a delivery reliable — how long it takes to prepare food, how many people to keep on call based on irregular demand, which ‘dasher’ is best to pick up an order and deliver it, what mode of transportation the dasher should take, etc.”
