Charlotte, North Carolina, gets in on the food hall trend sweeping the nation with the planning of Tompkins Hall. The forthcoming eatery will open in late 2018 with six anchor restaurants, 19 food stalls, and retail spaces.
The first three tenants were announced this week: Fonta Flora Brewery, Aix Rotisserie, and Undercurrent Coffee. Fonta Flora Brewery hails from Morganton, N.C., and will set up a craft beer brewery and tasting room, along with an expansive outdoor patio, at Tompkins Hall. Aix Rotisserie comes from the team at Mediterranean bistro Aix en Provence, and, if the website is any indication, will serve plenty of roast chicken. Undercurrent Coffee will offer espresso beverages, pour-over coffees, batch-brewed coffee, specialty tea, and other specialty beverages.
Located in former textile mill, at 340 E. 16th St., Tompkins Hall is a combined effort from Atlanta-based Paces Properties and Charlotte-based White Point Partners. The project is slated to have rolling openings in late 2018 and a grand opening event slated for early 2019.
