Holy City chef Ken Vedrinski (Coda Del Pesce and Trattoria Lucca) will appear on an episode of Beat Bobby Flay on Thursday, August 10, at 10 p.m. on the Food Network. The episode, “Green, White, and Red,” has Vedrinski going against New York-based Raffaele Ronca in the first round, in what will most likely be an Italian-themed battle.

For those not familiar, the Food Network show pits two chefs against each other in the first round to create a dish with an ingredient chosen by Flay. Guest judges determine who will go on to compete against Iron Chef Bobby Flay to create a certain dish like eggplant parmesan or pasta bolognese. Food Network veterans Anne Burrell and Scott Conant will be the guest judges on Vedrinski’s episode.

No word yet on what the secret ingredient or dish will be. Think Vedrinski can take the Flay? Tune in on Thursday to find out.
