NOMO — Chef Matthew Ward is in from the highly acclaimed Culinary Vegetable Institute at The Chef’s Garden in Milan, Ohio, to take over the kitchen at Rutledge Cab Company. He’s bringing in more seasonal, local specials, as well as keeping Burger Mondays going strong with 500 stacks sold on the discount night.

NORTH CENTRAL — Little Jack’s Tavern general manager Marc Hudacsko has moved on from the restaurant. No word on what he has planned next.

ISLE OF PALMS — Mixologist Sean O’Brien joins Wild Dunes restaurant Coastal Provisions from downtown bar Prohibition. His new cocktail menu includes the Top Hat, made with vodka, carrot shrub, cucumber bitters, Domaine de Canton, and orange peel, and the Pumpkin Falernum crafted with vodka, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, lime juice, and holiday spices.

FRENCH QUARTER — After the shuttering of Cypress and Artisan Meat Share, chef Craig Deihl took a position in North Carolina to open Hello, Sailor on Lake Norman with the team from Davidson restaurant Kindred.

UPPER KING — Chef Jacob Huder has been with farm fresh eatery The Macintosh since it opened in 2011, and now he is the executive chef. Original executive chef Jeremiah Bacon transitions to a more chef/co-owner position.

FRENCH QUARTER — Graham Dailey steps down from his executive chef position at Peninsula Grill, and co-executive chef Ramon Taimanglo will assume the position.

FRENCH QUARTER — Chef Todd Garrigan has been with Craftsmen Kitchen and Tap House since the beginning, but he recently left to join Mosaic Catering.

MOUNT PLEASANT — Over at The Granary, chef Brannon Florie is out. Indigo Road alum Curtis Wilson will take his place. Florie will concentrate on his family and other restaurants Pier 41 and On Forty-One.

NORTH CENTRAL — Chef Robert Barry has distanced himself from Mexican restaurant Pancito & Lefty. According to Post & Courier, he is in a dispute over ownership with the other partners.

ISLE OF PALMS — After more than 10 years with Morgan Creek Grill, Karnan Devlin has been promoted to executive chef.

NORTH CHARLESTON — As part of Mixson’s October 2017 relaunch, the club announced that Owen Gaube is the new executive chef. Gaube attended Johnson and Wales in Charleston most recently served as chef at the I’On Club in Mount Pleasant.

UPPER KING — Italian eatery Ristorante Juliet brings on Sarah Baugher and Greg Kurtzman as co-chefs de cuisine. Both previously worked under executive chef Nate Whiting while he was at 492.

ANSONBOROUGH — Chef Raymond Dial joins the team at downtown steakhouse Burwell’s. Dial previously worked at Eddie Merlot’s Steakhouse in Pittsburg, PA. He attended Johnson & Wales while it was located in Charleston.

CANNONBOROUGH/ELLIOTBOROUGH — Former Top Chef contestant Emily Hahn is out from Spring Street restaurant Warehouse. She says she’s staying in Charleston but has not revealed her next move.

UPPER KING — St. Croix native Digby Stridiron will lead the kitchen at forthcoming Parcel 32, in the former Fish restaurant space. Stridiron previously cooked at balter in St. Croix, which was named a USA Today 10 Best Restaurants in the Caribbean readers’ choice award in 2017.

UPPER KING — Chef David Schuttenberg is out with the upcoming Parcel 32 project taking over Fish restaurant. Schuttenberg told Post and Courier that he will be joining another establishment in Charleston soon.

NORTH CENTRAL — Former Tristan and 492 chef Nate Whiting makes a reappearance in the kitchen at Italian eatery Juliet. The restaurant recently received a winning review from Post and Courier critic Hanna Raskin.

UPPER KING — Chef Jordan Moore leaves pizza place Juliet for swank hotel The Restoration, which houses The Watch Rooftop Kitchen & Spirits.

MOUNT PLEASANT — Former Corporate Chef for Five Loaves Cafe and Sesame Burger, Jason Ulak, was recently named the executive chef of Burtons Grill and Bar.

MOUNT PLEASANT — Former Patrick Properties manager Cal Goodell joins former Fish chef Nico Romo at forthcoming restaurant Nico. Goodell will act as general manager.

MAZYCK-WRAGGBOROUGH — Posh hotel The Dewberry has been on an executive chef search since November 2016, when opening chef Wes Morton announced he would exit at the end of the year. Eight months later, the property has announced that Geoffroy Deconinck will take the helm in the hotel’s kitchen that serves guests, Southern brasserie Henrietta’s, and swank bar The Living Room.

SOUTH OF BROAD — Chef Kevin Getzewich (formerly of Indaco and The Macintosh) joins the Normandy Farm Bakery team as they plan to open a breakfast/lunch/happy hour restaurant at 1 Broad St.
