Whiskey Counts as a Vegetable at Home Team BBQ

NOMO — On Tuesday, June 27, Home Team BBQ’s downtown location will host a Drink Your Veggies Whiskey Dinner. The five-course, family-style dinner will feature seasonal vegetables and grains paired to each whiskey's fermentation mixture. For example, chilled corn soup pairs with a Platte Valley corn whiskey and a Balvenie 14 Year Caribbean Cask malted barley pairs with a barley risotto with vegetable confit and poached egg. CHARLOTTE — There are still tickets left for the Southern Foodways Alliance Summer Symposium taking place in Charlotte on June 22 through 24. The three-day event, titled “El Sur Latino,” will explore Charlotte as a city of new arrivals through lectures, meals, tastings, and experiences. Tickets are $465 and includes meals.
