The Harbinger Inspires Multiple Breakfast Instagrams

Capture that frittata

The Harbinger

Entrepreneurs Greer Gilchrist and Cameron Neal opened The Harbinger Cafe & Bakery in North Central over the weekend. The cafe sits at 1107 King St., neighboring the Charleston Boxing Club.

The Harbinger offers pastries, coffee, breakfast sandwiches, sandwiches and salads at lunch, and happy hour from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with beer, wine, and bar snacks.

The coffee comes from Methodical, of Greenville, S.C., and The Harbinger describes the menu as “... locally-sourced & seasonal breakfast & lunch fare as well as a curated selection of top-notch baked goods with both plant-based & gluten-free options.” Some examples of this include a “herb-filled frittata sandwich topped with house-made pimento cheese and quick-pickled jalapeños or a toasted, open-faced, nut butter sandwich smothered with spreads, jams and nourishing toppings.”

Several Instagrammers found the new neighborhood addition on Sunday and showed off some of the cafe’s breakfast items.

Sooooo excited for a new hangout in the neighborhood! @theharbingercafe And the cookies!! Wow.
