Chef Patrick Owens (Langdon’s and Opal) expands his east-of-the-Cooper empire with new pizza parlor Wood & Grain. Located in the Bi-Lo shopping center at 778 South Shelmore Blvd., the eatery will feature a raw bar, wood-fired pizzas, charcuterie, ceviches, salads, and vegetable-heavy plates. Owens says his “two favorite things” are pizza and raw seafood. There is a photo of a roasted octopus with romesco sauce and butter beans on Facebook and a short list of oysters and cocktails on Instagram. [UPDATE: Full menu is below.]
Chef de cuisine Jeffrey Allen will join Owens in the open kitchen.
On Wednesday, June 28, Wood & Grain’s raw bar will open daily at 4 p.m., and the full-service dinner menu will be available from 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, the restaurant closes at 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant closes at 11 p.m.
