1KEPT Opens With Eggs Benedict

Lunch and dinner starts next week

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas.

New Southern eatery and bar 1KEPT opened the doors on Friday, June 2, from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with breakfast service. The restaurant will launch lunch and dinner next week. The breakfast menu offers items like eggs benedict with pulled pork, a coddled egg with smoked potato puree and toast points, and granola with Charleston honey.

When hotel restaurant Barony Tavern locked the doors this past January, the space at 68 Wentworth sat empty until Atlanta-based 1KEPT announced that it would update the dining room in the Renaissance Charleston Historic District Hotel.

Here, photographer Leslie McKellar tours the renovated dining room, lounge, and bar area of 1KEPT. The quirky taxidermy animals that dotted Barony Tavern are long gone and in there place is contemporary art and more modern details.
