Fulton Five Spotted For Sale [Updated]

According to a recent Facebook post by a local mortgage professional, cozy, Italian constant Fulton Five is for sale. Don’t panic just yet though — this doesn’t necessarily mean the restaurant is closing. For a cool $2.65 million, the new owners will get the building, the Fulton Five concept, and the equipment.

Built in 1991, the old school eatery is consistently voted "Most Romantic" year after year by readers of Charleston City Paper. The slightly hidden entrance at 5 Fulton St. and intimate interiors of Fulton Five are a hit with locals and couples looking for a quiet date night.

Lower King doesn’t see many restaurants. Former Italian eatery Il Cortile Del Re served the area for 18 years, but made a hasty exit in 2015. The space still sits empty.

UPDATE: The Facebook post has disappeared, but here’s a screenshot of the listing from LinkedIn. A representative for the real estate group says the owner has decided not to sell.
