SOL Southwest Kitchen Makes Progress on Meeting Street

Mount Pleasant margarita outpost SOL Southwest Kitchen took one more step toward opening downtown as the owners placed a giant “Now Hiring” sign (designed by 12pt Creative) in the window at 385 Meeting St.

The first SOL opened in 2014 at 1101 Stockade Ln. Former City Paper review Robert Moss wrote about the original location shortly after the opening — he recommended the fresh-squeezed cocktails, but issued a caution on the food, stating that “tossing in a few Mexican-esque flavors doesn't necessarily make for interesting dishes." Since then, SOL has garnered 3.5 stars on Yelp, and the owners expanded the brand to Summerville.

The downtown space will have a large indoor and outdoor bar with the patio overlooking Wragg Square. The interiors are currently under construction with the anticipation of a mid-June opening. Once the doors unlock, SOL will serve lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch.
