Edison

The former Big Belly Kitchen & Tap House at 1014 Fort Johnson Rd. is now eclectic casual cafe Edison. The James Island newcomer opened on Wednesday, April 26. According to Bugle, chef/owner Joel Lucas decided on the space after searching through pricey spots in Mount Pleasant. He told them, it’s “Not too small, not too big. Even in some of the places I worked in D.C. there were neighborhood-style places, and that’s what I wanted to do here.”

Edison serves lunch and dinner with brunch on the way. Lucas’ menu ranges from truffled pear salad to West Indies seafood chowder to Vietnamese pho tacos to steak frites.

The newcomer opens Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
